DiDb system provides users – manufacturers, forwarders, LSPs, carriers and also transport organizers – up-to-date database services of registered and qualified DIDb drivers. The driver’s identity can be made certain before handing over the sensitive and/or high-value cargos by using DiDb workstation with online access to the database.
Upon reading the driver’s DiDb card and PIN code, the system provides all the relevant information including: the driver’s personal data, validity of his/her DIDb membership, expiry date of personal documents, rating and DiDb status.
DiDb users have possibility to participate in the efficient information flow in a cost-saving way and without violation of their interests. Drivers may collect points at multiple DiDb users based upon their transport assignments. Consequently, users contribute to the collective assessment of the drivers by giving to them points. On the other hand, should a driver be banned from DiDb system as a consequence of an incident initiated by any DiDb user, he shall no longer be assigned carriages by other DiDb user either. Under no circumstances is the operator able to hand over the cargo to drivers whose status is banned. Via this procedure, only those drivers whose performance and reputation is a guarantee for a reliable delivery are able to take charge of a high-value cargo. By this method, the users of DiDb database services are able to decrease the chance of cargo loss and have the opportunity to avoid the continuous, impending risk of organized cargo crime.
Recognising the effectiveness and advantages of the DiDb system, there are more and more manufacturers, forwarders and EMS providers all over in the EU that are joining to the system as DiDb users and also more and more drivers become registered member in the DiDb database, so the network of DiDb system is expanding dynamically each day.
